Registration is now open for next week’s Wake the Lake, the biggest and longest-running wakeboarding tournament on Lake Norman.
The one-day tournament will be held Sept. 14, in the Reeds Creek cove off Williamson Road in Mooresville, with the spectator viewing and competitor staging areas at Eddie’s Seafood and Raw Bar (formerly Vinnie’s Raw Bar and Restaurant).
The tournament will feature boarders competing in seven divisions: Grom (for boys and girls age 9-under), beginner 13-under, beginner 14-up, intermediate, advanced, outlaw and wakeskate.
Competitors can register in advance online at http://www.wakethelakelkn.com, or the day of the tournament beginning at 8 a.m. The event is World Wakeboarding Association certified, and all competitors must have a WWA membership to enter. Entrants under age 18 must also have a parent or guardian present (with identification) to sign all forms and waivers.
