Run in April for the first time this year, organisers (and presumably visitors) found it so nice they had to run it twice in 2013, so make sure you’re not among the few who miss it again.
Organisers – Nasimi Beach in collaboration with Great events and Shamal Kitesurfing Dubai – say the aspiration of this festival is to encourage and educate people about outdoor and watersport activities by creating a fun environment where people of any level can compete, learn, meet new people and just have a great afternoon.
So come and enjoy chic and relaxing environs, as well as fun family-friendly festivities at Atlantis, The Palm’s prime beachside hangout.
The second edition includes competitive as well as fun races for kids and adults in Stand Up Paddling, surf skiing and kayaking.
If you’d rather not reveal your lack of skills on the board, there will also be informal SUP clinics, in addition to product stalls, demos, and plenty more action and entertainment for paddlers and beachgoers of all abilities and inclinations.
Registration fee for competitors is Dh90, which includes BBQ for one, while those looking to just chill out and cheer them on go free. Whether you pick up a paddle or not on Saturday, just taking in some live grooves, yummy refreshments, and the relaxing atmosphere would make for a brilliant end to the weekend.
