Jules Lines is one of Britain’s top free climbers, constantly ascending cliff faces without ropes or protective padding. But when attempting the ‘Hold Fast, Hold True’ route on Whale Rock in Glen Nevis his luck ran out. At 2.03 he loses his grip and falls to the ground below. Thankfully he only sustained some bruised ribs and was fit to become the first person to complete the climb just three weeks later. Credit: Paul Higginson.
