Josh Hill,The American X-Games silver medallist and Supercross star, who has touted Australia as a country he has always wanted to visit, will contest the 2013 Australian Supercross Championship on board a Hart and Huntington / InsureMyRide / DPH Motorsports Suzuki.
Hill finished second in last weekends X-Games Men’s Moto-X final and said he is looking forward lining up against his Australian counterparts at the series opener in Darwin.
“I’ve watched most of the Australian Supercross races over the past few years on Fuel TV and YouTube so I am familiar with the competition in Australia,” Hill said.
“Doing this series was really important to me in terms of preparation for 2014. I am focused on being as prepared as I can for next years AMA Supercross.
“I am looking forward to hanging out with all the cool Aussie racers that I’ve met in the states. I can’t wait to ride with them and see how they live,” Hill concluded.
International Entertainment Group General Manager Phil Harper acknowledged there has been great interest from international riders wanting to compete in the Australian Supercross Championship.
“It is great to be able to confirm Josh Hill,” Harper said. “He is one of America’s leading supercross riders and he has just finished second at X-Games.
“We look forward to announcing the other international competitors in the coming weeks.” Harper added.
The six round Australian Supercross Championship will commence with a double-header at Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway on September 12-14 alongside the QBE Australian Superbike Championship.
