Police have revealed that a woman who died when she became crushed by wooden barriers at a paintball centre was found pinned against the inside of the van.
Officers are continuing an investigation into the incident at the Delta Force Paintball centre in Sparkwell near Plymouth on Friday.
The 45-year-old woman, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the centre soon after the incident in which she was pinned inside the van by a number of the barriers.
She was said to have been loading up a van with wooden barriers from another venue.
Police and ambulance staff were called to the centre, in Ledgate Lane in the village at 9.25pm on Friday. The woman died at the scene.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall police said: “The woman, who was a member of staff, became trapped while unloading wooden barriers from a transit van.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared by HM Coroner. Next-of-kin have been informed.”
South Hams District Council‘s environmental officers have been informed and will investigate the death, the spokesman added.
