United States Coast Guard crews are searching for a kayaker missing off Nantucket. Around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, the Nantucket harbormaster reported to watchstanders at the Coast Guard Station in Woods Hole that a person had been seen clinging to a red kayaking and waving their arms. The person was last seen off Pocomo Beach in Nantucket Harbor, according to a US Coast Guard release.

A USCG MH-60 Jayhawk crew is assisting the Nantucket harbormaster with a search for the missing person.

The kayak and paddle have washed ashore, according to the USCG. There was also a cooler containing several empty beer cans aboard the kayak.

There is still no sign of the kayaker seen waving from the kayak several hours before.
