Dame Bradbury’s Year 6 enjoyed outstanding views at the summit of Mount Snowdon.
TRIUMPH at the top! All of the Year 6 children at Dame Bradbury’s School in Saffron Walden successfully climbed Mount Snowdon last week on the final day of their school trip to Snowdonia.
During a week of glorious Welsh sunshine, the children had taken part in a number of exciting activities including rock climbing, abseiling and gorge scrambling.
Their 1,085 metre mountain ascent to the highest point in England and Wales was, literally, the pinnacle of a week of physical challenges combined with field studies.
“We were thrilled with the determination displayed by the children all week,” said Debs White, Dame Bradbury’s deputy head of prep.
“They supported each other throughout the long hot climb up the mountain and it was fantastic to have the whole year group at the summit on such a beautiful day. I am sure it is an experience they will never forget.”
