Rock climber hurt in Mt Arapiles fall

images (51)Emergency service crews near the Grampians have been kept busy over the weekend.

A man in his 30s was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital after a rock climbing fall on Saturday afternoon.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesman says the man was climbing at Mt Arapiles when he fell five metres and broke both his ankles.

Two bushwalkers also needed help after they parted with their group on Saturday.

The women, aged in their 20s and 30s, spent the night on a rocky outcrop.

An Ambulance Victoria helicopter found the missing bushwalkers and was able to direct State Emergency Service volunteers to their location.

The women did not require medical treatment.
